JayDaYoungan’s federal gun charge indictment comes on top of a long list of legal issues

Bogalusa, Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan, is looking at 5 years behind the wall if convicted after a grand jury indicted him on a federal weapons charge in U.S. District Court last Friday(December 3), Fox 8 News reported.

JayDaYoungan, born Javarious or Javorious Scott (as it appears in federal court documents), was reportedly found with a 9 mm handgun during an October 29 traffic stop. The authorities say the firearm was acquired from another state.

According to the indictment, Scott “did willfully receive a firearm … said firearm having been shipped in and transported in interstate commerce.”

At the time of the arrest, the 23-year-old rapper was prohibited from possessing a weapon because of his illegal possession of Oxycodone and assault on a pregnant woman charges in Harris County, Texas.

During the October 29 arrest, Bogalusa police pulled over a silver-colored Audi that Jay was riding in on South Columbia Street in the city. The cops had been looking for the car with a Virginia plate after ATF senior special agent Henry Meyer of the New Orleans Field Division swore an affidavit stating that it had been illegally switched.

Jay was out on a $175,000 bond stemming from his September arrest in Tangipahoa Parish in connection to accessory to second-degree murder and obstruction of justice charges. The charges are connected to a 2020 shooting death at a trail ride in Roseland.
