Birdman’s half-brother had been sentenced to life and 20 years in prison

Birdman’s half-brother Terrance “Gangsta” Williams is now out of prison after serving more than 20 years of a life sentence. According to nola.com, Williams was released on January 3 at 47.

Williams was a known figure in the streets during the 90s and was convicted for running a criminal organization and soliciting murder. He was reportedly plotting to murder several drugs dealers from New York in return of heroin that the group was transacting with Williams’ affiliate as payment.

Authorities caught wind of Williams’ plans through wiretaps, intercepted the heroin, and arrested Williams. He was sentenced to life and 20 years in prison.

U. S District Judge Ivan Lemelle resentenced Williams to 27 years last month for reasons that the Judge is said to have sealed at the time of the release. It is reported that a judge seals these kinds of documents to protect important information about the defendant’s cooperation or beneficiaries.

Williams’ lawyer Townsend Myers hasn’t issued a statement concerning his client’s release.
