After releasing Punken last year, one of the best slept-on rap albums of 2018, the Houston trap star is back with another record. Brandon Banks is the debut studio album for Maxo after signing with Roc Nation earlier this year.
Maxo’s phenomenal storytelling ability is very prominent on this record; it’s a gritty look into what being a Houston trapper is really like. Brandon Banks has a bunch of awesome features; Megan thee Stallion, Schoolboy Q, A$AP Ferg, KCG Josh, and Travi$ Scott all provide excellent contributions to the record. This is one of my favorite rap albums of the year so far, and I highly recommend it to fans of Dirty South trap music.
