Judge calls for restrictions on communication in Young Thug’s RICO case
Young Thug’s Michael Phelps tweet about swimming in August is causing some trouble in his RICO case. During a recent hearing, Judge Ural Glanville called for communication restrictions after the prosecutors raised concerns about the tweet, according to 11 Alive News.
Thugger’s lawyer Brian Steel argued that the “Day Before” rapper doesn’t have access to a phone, and that he relayed his thoughts to someone else handling his Twitter page. He added that the tweet wasn’t meant to harm anyone.
“That last tweet that was sent out to Michael Phelps is recorded,” Steel stated. “It’s been investigated by the sheriff of that county. And it was a conversation that was recorded between [Young Thug] and a member of his close family, close friendships. He asked the other person who’s in control of his Twitter account to send that, or the Instagram, maybe. That is not a reason to [restrict].”
But Judge Glanville still insisted on communication restrictions. “Well, if I can communicate through a family member or somebody else, then I can communicate something else.”
