Chaka Zulu was arrested last week for murder charges in June shooting but new footage paves way for self defense case
Ludacris’ long-time manager Chaka Zulu is facing murder charges in June shooting that happened in Atlanta. New surveillance footage released by TMZ shows a group of men attacking Zulu before he discharged his weapon fatally hitting 23-year old Artez Benton, while Zulu himself was struck in the back.
The clip shows Zulu getting into an argument with a man named Tre’mon Robinson at a parking lot outside Zulu’s restaurant Apt4B in ATL. During the exchange, someone named Corey Crawford is seen getting something from a car which Zulu’s legal defense believe was a gun.
Zulu soon gets physical with Robinson then Crawford & Benton intervene on the latter’s side and start beating up the 53-year old. Zulu’s female assistant tries to help him but Robinson knocks her out.
Zulu opens fire striking Benton in the chest, and Crawford fires his gun at Zulu hitting him in the back. Soon everyone disparses for cover.
Zulu surrendered himself to the authorities last week and is being charged with murder, aggravated assault, simple battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The new footage however, appears to show Zulu defending himself.
