Kanye West refrains from offering Adidas ownership deal

Kanye West announced earlier in the week that he’ll be coming for Adidas after he’s done with Gap, and he seems to be keeping his word except his offering the sportswear company a deal.

The Chicago rapper recently left a message for Adidas on Instagram stories offering them 20% of sales as “a non exclusive manufacturing and distribution partner.”

“adidas I’m willing to give you 20% of sales,” he wrote before adding, “Not ownership[.] As a non exclusive manufacturing and distribution partner.”

“Adidas I’m willing to give you guys a royalty[.] 20% of net profit.” He added, “Adidas I’m not speaking with Torben again.” He also made it clear that he only wants to speak to the shot callers, “I’m the king[.] I only speak to the decision makers.”

Earlier in the week, Ye slammed Torben Schumacher, senior vice president and global general manager of adidas Originals and the company for stealing his designs.

“Who are the real decision makers at adidas?” he wrote on social media. “Torben is a fucking idiot. Torben stole my designs. adidas stole my designs. They did the Balenciaga collaboration without my knowledge and then stopped my Balenciaga Gap shoes from going to market. Nobody call me and ask me if I’m sleeping. It’s war. We deaded Gap now it’s adidas time.”
