Trippie Redd taps into art outside of music

Trippie Redd is a huge fan of anime and he wants to venture into the business. Over the weekend, the Cleveland rapper announced on an Instagram story post that he’s collaborating with The Boondocks producer Carl Jones for his own anime show.

“It’s an honor to be working on an anime with the same guy that animated the show that made me love anime,” Trippie wrote.

Last week, Jones also teased the collaboration on social media writing, “Building With The Homie @trippieredd Stay [Tuned].”

During a conversation on Complex’s Brackets, Trippie expressed his frustration why The Boondocks isn’t counted as an anime. “Why wouldn’t Boondocks count? Why do people feel that way about Boondocks? I feel like they feel like that because a Black man made it.”
