Iggy Azalea makes it clear she wrote her songs

Iggy Azalea defends her decision to sell “a portion” of her catalog. This is after Billboard reported on Monday (November 21) that the Australian artist sold her catalog to Domain Capital for eight figures. The deal involves her three albums including the platinum The New Classic and 2021’s The End Of An Era, as well as her smash hits “Fancy,” “Problem,” and “Black Widow.”

“I sold a portion of my catalog to who I wanted, for an amount that means I don’t have to work another day in my life,” Azalea wrote in a tweet about her latest business move. “I love y’all down but the masters conversation is a little beyond most of your understanding of business.” She added about the reason for the deal, “I have a larger business I want to invest in.”

She continued that she penned all her work and deserves the eight figures. “Also didn’t I not write those songs? But wait – I just sold them for 8 figures? So I guess I did write them after all… Lmao. Like. Just be talking for years not knowing,” she wrote.
