Tory’s prosecutors say his quest for a new trial is futile
Prosecutors in Tory Lanez’s shooting case say the motion filed by his defense for a new trial won’t be granted in court, according to Law & Crime journalist Meghann Cuniff via her Substack outlet. The prosecutors say the filing “lacks substance” and that the Sorry 4 What singer’s defense is making claims that are baseless.
Prosecutors add that for a new trial to be granted, the defendant should be able to “demonstrate a reversible error or other defect.” They claim that Tory’s argument for a new trial is grounded on factors that they didn’t challenge during the original trial.
