YSL rapper Yak Gotti has several RICO charges dropped, expecting release by Christmas
YSL rapper Yak Gotti has some cause for joy after three of his charges have been dismissed from the ongoing trial involving YSL Brian, hopefully hinting that he might be free from jail before the Christmas festivities begin.
On Thursday (November 21), in the course of his celebration, and also his 32nd birthday, Yak posted an image of himself attending court on social media. In his message of thanks for the reduced charges and support that he has received he said, “Caged in the system, I’m just thankful to be alive, See y’all by Christmas, God willing before Thanksgiving, 3 Charges dropped, Plus limitless support, Best birthday wishes.”
As reported by 11 Alive, it was the Honorable Judge Paige Whitaker who granted a directed verdict on three counts on behalf of Yak (also known as Deamonte Kendrick) and struck them off based on insufficient evidence presented that would have made it reasonable for a jury to convict the defendant. The charges referred to drug possession and possession with an intent to distribute.
Consequently, the motion made by the lawyer’s team of Yak to dismiss the remaining allegations against him, in particular, the RICO one, was rejected by Judge Whitaker.
