YNW Melly’s chances of release improve after judge’s ruling
YNW Melly is possibly going to receive a jail release in time for Christmas after the judge in his murder case has compelled law enforcement to give reasons for his continued confinement.
As a result of the ongoing lawsuit against the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on the allegations of mistreatment, Judge Melissa Damian has demanded the agency file an explanation by December 6 as to why he should not be released from custody. Failure to do so, Melly would be released on bail pending his trial.
Melly’s trial is currently scheduled for September 10, 2025, however, this date is likely to change.
The “Murder On My Mind” rapper, otherwise known as Jamell Demons, was jailed following his arrest in 2019 due to double murder allegations.
Melly’s suit that was lodged this month speaks about the purported conditions of his detention, praying for his release.
