YSL judge apologizes for using N-word during trial

Although Young Thug has been freed, the YSL RICO trial is still going on, and there are two remaining co-defendants. Recently, however, an unanticipated controversy unfolded inside the courtroom, which Judge Paige Reese Whitaker promptly addressed.

Whitaker mentioned during one of the sessions that she would read all the Instagram conversations tying it with that case just before they had lunch. Inadvertently, she uttered the n-word while she was reading from the text; at once, she said it was regrettable for her to have used the word. The reason is, that as she first read the messages, she attempted to go through them quickly without processing all of the material.

“I hope that that was not offensive to anyone,” Judge Whitaker said. “It was certainly not meant to be offensive to anyone. I do not use that word. And it was merely – I should have been looking first before I said whatever I said out loud to edit if there were, you know, any offensive words. So I want to apologize on the record for that.”
