Young Thug Secures Probation Amendment Allowing Limited Metro Atlanta Visits

Share

Young Thug has succeeded in amending a main clause of his probation with respect to his 10-year prohibition from Metro Atlanta, according to WSB-TV.

Last week, the YSL rapper sought clarity about the prohibition since he possessed a house in that area. On Wednesday (December 11), Judge Paige Reese Whitaker decided that Thug can remain within his residence as long as it does not exceed two weeks, provided he keeps a clean slate for the first three years of his probation. He was given leeway to visit up to four times a year with a five-day heads-up to his lawyer.

It was just one of the severe conditions imposed on him by his 15-year probation sentence for the YSL RICO plea deal. An additional one is that he will not, in any of his music, refer to himself or anyone in the gang. The list goes on to include no contact with co-defendants except his brother Quantavious “Unfoonk” Grier and Gunna, random drug tests, anti-gang talks in schools, and 100 hours of community service each year.

Violation of any of the above could result in 20 years of prison time. Therefore, the rapper finds himself walking a legal tightrope until 2039.
