Jhené Aiko’s home was destroyed in the Los Angeles fires, but she is grateful her family is safe

Jhené Aiko has come out with the sad news that her house was gutted in the blazing fires raging through Los Angeles. But the pop singer is thankful that she and her family are safe amidst the crisis.

On Wednesday (January 8), the singer shared with her Instagram Story a prayer for all victims of the flames. “Praying for everyone this morning,” she wrote. “Those who lost their home. Those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wildlife and lost pets. Praying for the world.”

She later said, “Me and my children’s home is gone… burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Thankful we still have each other… Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy”

In defence of those who criticized her online stating that since she represented wealth, she couldn’t be pitied, Aiko offered a justification as to why she wouldn’t have “Paris Hilton money” by saying, “that’s not me.” She shared memories about growing up in a family after a fire razed their house while she was still a kid. “I work very hard for my family,” she added, saying she was very grateful for her family.
