Drake denied allegations that he sent an Instagram DM to Chris Blake Griffith about his dispute with UMG

Drake has denied allegations that he sent an Instagram direct message to celebrity stylist Chris Blake Griffith regarding his dispute with Universal Music Group (UMG).

On Tuesday (January 7), Griffith posted apparent messages in which Drake supposedly explained why he was pursuing legal action against the label he had been associated with during his career. The so-called messages likened the rapper’s grievance against UMG to “Nike financing a campaign about LeBron cheating on his wife,” within which he told of the reason for suing the long-standing label.

The messages also talked of Drake’s plans to bring the record label to account for past errors: “Everybody before me that tried the label was too eccentric… I’m going to change that and create a much safer place within the building for every artist moving forward.”

However, the screenshots also contained a part about Griffith’s claim involving NFL player Stefon Diggs, to which the alleged Drake’s response read: “You asking me to post a tape about you ratting on people g.”

Drake swiftly discredited through Akademiks, “This is a fake DM,” tweeted Akademiks. “Drake called buddy a Rat… he got mad and made up some fake DM to try to make the blogs and go viral. End of story.”

So far, Griffith has produced no more evidence to support his claims.
