Pusha T Opens Up on Kanye West Fallout: ‘We Never Saw Eye to Eye’

Pusha T has finally laid bare the reasons behind his fractured relationship with Kanye West, admitting the pair never truly connected beyond the music.

Speaking candidly on The New York Times’ Popcast, the Clipse rapper said, “We made great music. Outside of music, we’re nothing. Outside of that, his principles, his morals, his mindset — we don’t see eye to eye hardly ever and we never have.”

The former GOOD Music president added that while he always spoke his mind around Ye, the disconnect ran deeper: “I don’t even know if I ever held my tongue… But what you do with that information, in taking advice or perspective from me, that’s what you do. But I don’t regret any of it.”

In a recent GQ interview, Pusha was even more direct. “He knows I don’t think he’s a man. He knows it,” he said. “He’s showed me the weakest sides of him, and he knows how I think of weak people.”

The tension also spilled into the music, with Pusha seemingly taking aim at Ye on Clipse’s comeback single “Ace Trumpets” with the biting bar:

“Look at them, him and him, still waitin’ on Yeezy / I hope you got your squeegees / At your interviews, I just ki-ki.”

Their relationship officially deteriorated after Pusha’s departure from GOOD Music in 2022, following Kanye’s string of antisemitic outbursts.

Though West has yet to respond to these latest statements, his previous rants about former collaborators suggest more may come. As it stands, the once-powerful creative alliance between the two appears to be permanently severed.
