Courtroom Confusion Arises Over Rihanna’s Marital Status; Trial for 2021 Shooting Set to Begin

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s relationship status has become a topic of confusion in court as Rocky’s trial for the 2021 shooting approaches. During a pre-trial hearing on January 16, Judge Mark S. Arnold sought clarification on how to refer to Rihanna, with Rocky’s attorney calling her his “common-law wife.” However, prosecutors objected, stating she should be referred to as his “significant other” or the “mother of his children” unless they are legally married. The judge ultimately ruled that Rihanna could only be called his wife if proof of legal marriage was presented.

Additionally, it was revealed that prosecutors offered a plea deal to Rocky, but he rejected it, expressing confidence in his acquittal. Jury selection for the trial, where Rocky faces up to 24 years in prison for allegedly shooting former A$AP Mob affiliate A$AP Relli, is set for January 21. The trial could last around 15 days.
