It’s been a long time coming and the anticipation for Shmurda to come home hasn’t stopped since his 2014 arrest.

Leslie Pollard, Shmurda’s mother, informed TMZ that he’ll enjoy an intimate family dinner on the night of his arrival. Most of his time will be devoted to creating more music.

  • Bryson Tiller says his ‘Serenity’ album will be 3 parts: R&B, Rap & Pop

Bryson Tiller says his ‘Serenity’ album will be 3 parts: R&B, Rap & Pop

Bryson Tiller released his most-recent album Anniversary on October 2, 2020. Tiller teased that the album would not be his last of the year, but there’s been some delay on his album, titled Serenity.

Tiller gave an update on the album and why it’s been taking some time to finish up. He mentioned not being in the right headspace and the depression being at the forefront of the creative process for blockage. But since he’s been sitting on this music for so long, we’re in for more music than ever.

“I realized how much fucking music that I had for Serenity, all this different shit,” he said while going live. “So, Serenity is now not one album, but it’s three albums. It’s three volumes. One is a rap album, one is an R&B album and then one is a pop album.”

There’s still no official release date on this album, but, we can be very hopeful of a release some time before the year is up. The only issue with the release is his label situation. Tiller is having some difficulties with his RCA contract.

“Until I figure out the shit for my deal, with my label and all that shit, the business side, I can’t necessarily give that,” he said. “That’s the only thing holding those projects back.”

J Dilla persisted on the creation of ‘Donuts’ despite hardship of lupus

J Dilla’s untimely death on February 10, 2006 marked a shift in Hip-Hop culture. Before his demise, Dilla recorded and released his final album before death, Donuts. The album was released on his 32nd birthday (Feb. 7, 2006).

Donuts was recorded in the hospital, as Dilla underwent treatment for lupus. Dilla also had a rare blood disease: TTP. Dilla recorded using a Boss SP-303 sampler and a portable turntable. His friends from the Stones Throw label brought the turntable to him. Originally, the album came out to 22 minutes and is categorized as a beat tape.

Lil Durk and Metro Boomin are back in the studio

Lil Durk and Metro Boomin have an undeniab chemistry, most recently spotted on Durkio’s “Stay Down” track, featured on his latest album, The Voice.

It was this time last year when Durk and the St. Louis-bred producer teased the release of their collab body of work, No Auto Durk. Durk and Metro have steady been working on music and putting it out, but it hasn’t been for that specific project.

There’s still no word on when this project will arrive, but it’s good to see they’re working. And although there’s a possibility of it being for other reasons, we can still expect something dope between these two.
