    Travis Scott to publicly perform for first time since ASTROWORLD Fest

    Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival was in November 2021 and resulted in several unfortunate deaths.

    Next week (May 7), Travis Scott will publicly perform in Miami for Formula One Grand Prix at “ultraclub” E11even.

    According to PageSIX, the rapper hasn’t performed publicly since November 2021’s ASTROWORLD festival, which resulted in several deaths and multiple injuries. Travis has since only performed private sets.

    General admission tickets begin at a reasonable price of $150 (female) and work its way up to $250 (male). Table reservations at the club are ranging from $5,000 to $100,000. So, promoters are likely looking at Travis to be a big draw for the event.

    Tyler, the Creator released ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ nearly a year ago (June 2021). 

    Tyler, the Creator’s Gangster Grillz-hosted album, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, has reclaimed the crown as the number one album on the Billboard 200 chart. 

    Vinyl for the album are to thank for the jump from the 120th spot, all the way back to number one, nearly a calendar year later.

    The album, originally released in June 2021, reportedly sold over 59,000 total album-equivalent units, with roughly 51,000 of those sales being pure.

    The album is a historic one for the Odd Future leader. According to HipHopDX, since Luminate began tracking music sales in 1991, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST has had the biggest week in sales for a hip-hop album (or vinyl) for a solo male artist. 

    Kid Cudi previously held this record for his Man On The Moon III: The Chosen album (41,500 in its opening week for vinyl). 

    Tyler, 31, also pulled in over $30 million for his tour and won Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

    DaBaby’s name appears to pop up quite often in the news for actions he probably — most likely — doesn’t want to be in the news for.  

    The 30-year-old “Rockstar” rapper appears to have addressed the recently emerging footage of his 2018 Walmart shooting incident. He took to both his Twitter and Instagram.

    “No disrespect to my boy Tyrese but what y’all n***as got going on bruh?” The rapper wrote on a video of Tyrese pleading for better results. “Somebody behind the scenes on my ass ain’t it.”

    He furthered his response on his IG story, stating, “n***as done took 30 million from me, lie on me once a week, want my fine ass BM’s to hate me, want me to lose fights I don’t start, WHAT MORE DO U WANT FROM MEEE?” He finished off by, adding laughing emojis. 

    The 2018 Walmart shooting occurred in Huntsville, North Carolina, where DaBaby claimed self-defense in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Jaylin Craig. The newly emerged video from Rolling Stone has questions being raised. 

    According to HotNewHipHop, the family of Craig has brought their issues to the police handling the investigation.

    On Monday (April 18), Kendrick Lamar took to Twitter to announce the release date and title of his forthcoming album.

    Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will be released on May 13.

    The press release reads, “Los Angeles, CA. (April 18, 2022). The following statement was released by oklama, through his company pgLang at 11:00pm PT in Los Angeles, CA:

    It’s been a little over five years since Kendrick Lamar dropped his last album (DAMN.). The anticipation for the Compton rapper has been overwhelming, to say the least, but he’s finally returning to center stage with a new body of work.

    On his cousin’s single “family ties,” Kendrick teased his return back to the limelight.

    News broke of Kanye West dropping out of Coachella on Monday (April 4). Taking his place during the two-day California festival will be The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia.

    In the midst of Kanye West’s albums doing pretty phenomenal numbers on streaming services, the rapper has been the center of attention in a slew of personal life issues that have transpired online.

    On Wednesday (April 6), Coachella confirmed that The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia will replace West as a headliner on April 17 and 24, respectively — two Sundays.

    According to TMZ, Coachella was in talks with both parties about headlining the event. Discussion of the 32-year-old singer headlining “stalled at one point.

    Dawn FM, a surprise body of work he released this past January, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts.

    The Weeknd first made his Coachella debut in 2012, returning back in 2018 to headline, and now headlining again in 2022.

    Freebandz general, Future, is ready to drop some new music for his listeners. He took to his Twitter account to share some excitement.

    “Get ready to drop,” he tweeted on Tuesday night (April 5), Prior to that tweet, he said, “Scooter said drop the album this month.” Young Scooter is an Atlanta native who is affiliated with Freebandz.

    Just one day before April Fool’s Day (March 31), J. Cole and Dreamville release a new mixtape, D-Day, hosted by DJ Drama.

    News of the mixtape dropping came earlier on the aforementioned date, with less than 12 hours of promotion — showcasing true mixtape energy. Laced with 15 tracks, the tape also features notable names: Kenny Mason, Sheck Wes, ASAP Ferg, G Perico, REASON, 2 Chainz, and Young Nudy.

    The project couldn’t have come at a better time, considering Dreamville Music Festival is this weekend (April 2 and 3).
