Boosie Appeals to Trump for legal Justice
Boosie Badazz is still hoping to get some help from Donald Trump regarding his federal gun case in San Diego.
After Trump won the election in November, Boosie turned to X to seek a pardon from the then-president-elect. Although he didn’t receive an answer, he’s trying again now that Trump is officially in office.
“Trump CHECK MY CASE OUT!” he wrote on X on Wednesday (January 22). “MY CASE WAS DISMISSED BUT BIDEN’S DOJ RECHARGED ME WITH THE SAME GUN CHARGE BIDEN PARDONED HIS SON OF. I WAS TOLD I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE COUNTRY FACING THAT CHARGE NOW. PRESIDENT TRUMP, I ALREADY WAS GIVEN A 10 YEAR SENTENCE N STATE N 2009 FOR 3rd OFFENSE MARIJUANA (grams, grams, grams). I NEVER WAS EVEN OFFERED REHAB, STRAIGHT TO PRISON.
“N TRUMP, I’M BOOSIE, I’M A RAPPER/FILMMAKER FROM BATON ROUGE. I WAS TARGETED… MY MOUTH N THINGS I STAND ON GET ME N A LOT SHIT BUT I’M REAL! My lawyer MEGHAN BLANCO can explain this case. She knew the charges n against you were bad she even spoke about it on radio.”
He also urged his followers to support his cause, saying on Instagram Live, “Y’all gotta start the campaign. Y’all gotta start it up. #TrumpPardonBoosie.”
The case originates from June 2023, when Boosie was arrested in San Diego while exiting a courtroom after having a separate gun case dismissed. Less than two weeks later, he was re-indicted on multiple gun charges, including “felony possession of a firearm and transporting firearms across highways.”
Federal court documents revealed that social media posts were key evidence in the indictment. Boosie was seen in an Instagram Live video tucking a gun into the waistband of his jeans, a violation as federal law prohibits convicted felons from possessing firearms.
Whether Trump will pay attention to Boosie’s case remains uncertain, but the rapper continues to fight for his freedom.
