    Zaytoven reportedly sells his catalog to Ultra International Music Publishing

    Zaytoven sells 560 of his songs

    Zaytoven has handed over the publishing rights of his catalog to Patrick Moxey’s Ultra International Music Publishing, including his producer and songwriter shares. Record Of The Day shared a press release from UIMP that indicates the deal involves 560 of Zay’s songs released from 2005 to 2022. It has not been disclosed what price Zay named in the arrangement.

    The catalog includes some of Zay’s biggest hits including, Migos “Versace”, Travis Scott “3500”, DJ Esco ft Future & Lit Uzi Vert “Too Much Sauce”, Future ft. Drake “Used To This”, 21 Savage “Famous”, Future “Wifi Lit”, Lil Wayne “Problems,” and Future & Lil Uzi Vert “Real Baby Pluto,” and more. The deal also seals a co-publishing agreement for the producer’s future releases.

    “Zaytoven is an extraordinary talent.     Justin Bieber becomes the latest artist to sell his music catalog. According to Billboard, the singer closed a $200M deal with Hipgnosis that involves handing over 100% of his publishing shares of music released prior to December 31, 2021. The deal is the biggest in the world of selling music catalog.

    “The impact of Justin Bieber on global culture over the last 14 years has truly been remarkable,” Hipgnosis founder Merck Mercuriadis said. “At only 28 years of age, he is one of a handful of defining artists of the streaming era that has revitalized the entire music industry, taking a loyal and worldwide audience with him on a journey from teen phenomenon to culturally important artist. This acquisition ranks among the biggest deals ever made for an artist under the age of 70, such is the power of this incredible catalog that has almost 82 million monthly listeners and over 30 billion streams on Spotify alone.”

    Bieber’s 15-year manager Scooter Braun added, “I want to thank Merck and his entire Hipgnosis team and all of our partners involved for working so hard to make this historic deal happen. When Justin made the decision to make a catalog deal we quickly found the best partner to preserve and grow this amazing legacy was Merck and Hipgnosis.”

    Justin Bieber is reportedly cutting a $200M deal to sell his music publishing rights to Blackstone’s Hipgnosis Songs Capital, according to The Wallstreet Journal. The catalog includes some of his biggest hits, “Love Yourself” and “Baby.”

    Hipgnosis is a company that buys music rights from artists and makes profit from streams, advertisements, and more. Back in May, Justin Timberlake also sold his catalog to the company for $100M.

    Meek Mill has earned millions from music in a decade

    Having dropped his new mixtape Flamerz 5 on Monday (November 21), Meek Mill logged on Twitter for a Q/A with his fans. In one of his tweets, Meek revealed that he’s bagged $11M in ten years from “just music payments.”

    “I made 11million dollars in 10 years from music ‘just music payments’ I was shocked mad and didn’t wanna really rap for any label,” he wrote. “Now I got a real point to prove to show you can survive without getting rapped!”

    In another tweet, he claimed that his 2018 Drake collab, “Going Bad,” brought in $24M but his label couldn’t explain how much was his cut.

    “One day I asked how much “going bad” made just that song…. They said 24m I was like how much did I make? All I got was uhhhhhhh lol im@like wtf I know all the financials to my other business lol I signed out lost all trust for that whole system,” he ranted.

    Back in July, the Philly rapper said since he landed his record deal in 2014, he’s made “11m on records out of like a 100m.”

    “I been signed to Atlantic/MMG since 2014 it used to be Warner only made 11m on records out of like a 100m,” he wrote. “I only could drop every 9 months something a lawyer never explained to me and they removed me from all festivals also.”

    He added that he’s looking to “make that 11 million dollars [with] one project,” which “might be sponsored by a bank or one of my friends.”

    NBA Youngboy to enter a new chapter in his career with Motown

    NBA Youngboy is finally parting ways with Atlantic to join Motown Records. Per a report by Billboard on Monday (October 24), the Louisiana rapper has signed a new deal with the Universal Music Group-owned label, and will start releasing music through it in 2023.

    Youngboy had signed a global joint venture with Motown in 2021 for his label Never Broke down, LLC. Together they’ve released two compilation albums and are dropping another one, Nightmare on 38th Street, on October 28.

    The 23-year old had been calling Warner Bros’ Atlantic Records his musical home since 2016. He has delivered 4 albums and numerous mixtapes under the record company.
