Killa’s Big Screen Debut and Turning Down NYC’s Offer
Cam’ron is set to join Eminem in making a cameo in the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to the 90s cult classic starring Adam Sandler. The rapper announced his involvement on Instagram, posting a picture in front of his show Talk With Flee’s logo and writing, “Put the whole team in da movie. #HappyGilmore2.”
Eminem had previously been reported to have filmed scenes for the movie, with sources saying he was “super low key” and impressed with his comedic acting skills during production. Cam’ron and Eminem’s roles are expected to be brief, but it adds to the star-studded cast for the sequel, including Kid Cudi in a starring role alongside Sandler.
Cudi’s involvement was revealed in October, and he expressed his excitement in a heartfelt Instagram post. He called the opportunity a “dream come true,” sharing how Adam Sandler’s movies and comedy shaped his childhood.
Beyond the Happy Gilmore 2 update, Cam’ron made waves in a recent interview on his sports talk show It Is What It Is, revealing that he turned down the ceremonial key to New York City, which Mayor Eric Adams’ office offered. Cam’ron explained that due to the controversial figures associated with the honor, he decided it wasn’t the right fit. He was blunt about his decision, saying, “Where does that get you? I don’t want nothing to do with the keys to the city.”
It’s clear that while Killa’s career continues to thrive on screen, he’s staying true to his values regarding the honors he receives.
