Fifth Suspect in Julio Foolio Murder Case Arrested After Months on the Run

Davion Murphy, the final suspect in the murder of Florida rapper Julio Foolio, was arrested on January 6 in Jacksonville after a monthlong manhunt

Cops have detained Davion Murphy, the last and final suspect in the murder of Florida rapper Julio Foolio in the monthlong manhunt.

Murphy, 27, was arrested on January 6 by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at an apartment in Jacksonville, Florida, Fox 13 Tampa Bay. He was taken to the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility after he was arrested a short while later.

He was arrested over six months after Julio Foolio whose real name was Charles Jones was shot dead outside a Tampa motel in June 2024. Murphy had been on the run since the incident while earlier in July five other suspects had been arrested.

“This arrest clearly shows that we are determined and relentless in solving this murder,” said Mark Romano the JSO Director Investigations and Homeland Security. “Although it did take time, JSO and partners made every day effort to ensure that such individuals face the law.”

The four other suspects in the case; Isaiah Chance, Alicia Andrews, Sean Gathright, and Davion’s own brother, Rashad Murphy were captured last summer. where as Chance, Andrews and Gathright they have all pleaded not guilty while it is said that Rashad Murphy might resort to the plea of insanity.

Davion Murphy is to stand trial for the alleged involvement in shooting death of Julio Foolio, as the legal process rolls on to bring justice for the deceased rapper.
