Bieber and Usher’s collab is now triple platinum
Justin Bieber and Usher’s collaborative effort, “Somebody to Love,” is now triple platinum. The song received the certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after selling 3M units in the US.
The record was initially supposed to appear on Usher’s 2010 album, Raymond V. Raymond, but due to issues with his label, the singer gave the song to Bieber, whom he had been mentoring. Produced by The Stereotypes, the track ultimately served as the third single from Bieber’s debut studio album, My World 2.0.
Debuting at No. 98 on the Billboard Hot 100, it later ascended and peaked at No. 15.
