Cudi Opens Up About Stalker Fearing for His Safety Following Break-In

Kid Cudi has opened up about a disturbing incident involving a stalker who broke into his home during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this month. While rumors circulated that the intruder was homeless, the rapper clarified that the situation was far more alarming.

Taking to social media, Cudi explained, “The person that broke into my house was a crazed fan that has been stalking me for years without me knowing.” He detailed that the man had attended his shows both in the U.S. and overseas and had even driven across the country intending to speak to him about collaborations and ideas.

“This was an unhinged 34-year-old man,” Cudi added. “Not homeless.” He expressed his concerns over violating his privacy and said he now felt unsafe. The intruder reportedly helped himself to food, showered, and went through personal belongings while thinking he would converse with the rapper.

Cudi clarified that he’s taking extra precautions for his safety moving forward. “I’m gonna take some serious security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he stated while addressing the online reactions that made light of the situation. “This is not okay,” he emphasized.

Authorities arrested the stalker for felony burglary and theft of utilities after security cameras caught the man inside Cudi’s home on January 15.

Cudi concluded, saying, “If I’m standoffish when u see me in public now, this is why.”
