Intruder Makes Himself at Home During Evacuation, Arrested for Felony Burglary
Kid Cudi’s Los Angeles home was burglarized on January 15, while the rapper was away evacuating due to the ongoing wildfires sweeping across the city, TMZ reported. The incident took a bizarre turn as the intruder reportedly made himself comfortable in Cudi’s property, helping himself to food from the kitchen, using the bathroom, and even taking a shower.
Security footage caught the man in the kitchen without a shirt, prompting a call to the authorities. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and arrested the intruder while he was still inside the home. He was booked for felony burglary and theft of utilities and is currently being held on $150,000 bail.
Cudi had evacuated his home on January 8, sharing his safety and concern for others affected by the fires in an Instagram post. “I’m safe, w/ my loved ones, dogs are safe,” he wrote. “For all the folk who lost their homes, my heart hurts for you.”
The wildfires have tragically claimed at least 25 lives so far, with many others forced to flee their homes. Celebrities like Snoop Dogg have also been working to support victims of the disaster.
