Killer Mike speaks on Grammy weekend arrest

Killer Mike addresses arrest during celebratory night

Killer Mike won big during the Grammys earlier this month, taking home three awards. The Run The Jewels artist won the Best Rap Album with Michael, as well as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” alongside Future, André 3000 and Eryn Allen Kane.

However, while celebrating his triumph that night, things took a baffling turn and he was arrested and hit with a misdemeanor assault charge. Thankfully, he was shortly released.

Recently speaking to The View, Mike appeared to be dauntless about the incident. “All of my heroes have been in handcuffs – Malcolm, Martin, Mandela, Medgar. I walked out with the same dignity and respect that I walked in with, and I would implore people to just take that from it,” he explained, before owning up to being a little “overzealous” that night.
