King Von is dropping new album on October 9
Chicago rapper King Von has been making noise for a minute now, aiming at taking Drill music to the next level. He released his second studio album in March that peaked at number 63 on US Billboard Hot 200 Chart. The album featured some of the biggest songs in the rapper’s career, tracks like Took Her To The O have garnered millions of views on YouTube.
A few hours ago, Von hoped on Instagram revealing the album release date for Welcome 2 OBlock, with a photo of him holding his giant ‘Oblock’ chain, the image could be the cover art. “Welcome 2 OBLOCK Oct 9. ??????????… who Ready?? What y’all want on that b**ch ??” read the Instagram post.
Moreover, the rapper’s neighborhood OBlock has been getting a lot of attention lately, especially after 6ix9ine went to the famously violent hood disrespecting Lil Durk‘s deceased cousin. Durk indirectly responded by dropping The Voice and announcing an album with the same name.
King Von is taking his label-boss’ way, taking all the controversy and the hype to his advantage, teasing Welcome To OBlock for the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, Von previewed a song titled Gleesh Place that is likely to be the lead single of the album. The track is yet to be released.
