Kodak Black is of the opinion that NBA star LaMelo Ball was influenced by his style when he released the Scooby Doo-themed MB.04 signature sneakers through PUMA. He voiced this in a recent Instagram Live episode while showing off a custom van that mimicked Scooby Doo’s classic Mystery Machine.
In the video, Kodak seemed to call out LaMelo for what he believes is him borrowing from his creative style. “LaMelo Ball be on my drip,” he said. “I already saw how he copied me on my shit with the Scooby Doo. Who else probably ever did this shit before? I come different.”
Kodak still wears this attitude to be pensive at some point when he says it this way: “Everybody be on my drip-the whole world. The whole industry be on my drip. It’s a good thing, though.”
The highly awaited Scooby Doo sneakers from LaMelo Ball came a few weeks before this writing, charming the fans for their fun, whimsical appearance. There hasn’t been a response from LaMelo or the PUMA establishment since then; however, the colorful comments of the rapper on the whole phenomenon have reopened a debate on cultural influence and authenticity in the fashion, sporting, and entertainment worlds.
