Wayne was shaken to collaborate with Em
Lil Wayne recognized Eminem’s high caliber talent the first time he had an opportunity to work with him. During a recent conversation with The New York Times, Weezy recounted being petrified by the idea of hopping on the booth with Slim Shady.
“I was scared, actually, when I called Eminem for a song,” Wayne explained, adding, “that is a monster. He must have the same thing I have with words. Like, we can’t get them out of our heads.”
He continued, “Every meaning, every aspect of them. Things that rhyme, we hear it. I already know the gift and the curse that he has. And I love to hear the way he puts it together.”
The two iconic MCs first rode on a beat together in 2009 on “Forever,” later joining forces on “Drop the World” and “No Love.”
