Maino Offers His Side of the Story on His Early Feud with Jim Jones
Maino has addressed Cam’ron’s retelling of a past confrontation between him and Jim Jones, revealing that the incident wasn’t quite as dramatic as Killa Cam described. Appearing on Way Up with Angela Yee, the Brooklyn rapper clarified that their issues stemmed from Maino’s 2006 hit “Rumors,” where he mentioned Cam’ron but not Jim Jones. According to Maino, Jones took offense to this, and the two would have “face fights” whenever they saw each other, but no physical altercation occurred.
Maino recounted their encounter in Atlanta, noting, “We had a conversation… nothing spectacular, nobody swung. Once we started talking and realized that we had things in common, we were cool from then on.” He added that their interaction was much more cordial than Cam’ron’s version, though he acknowledged that tension needed to be addressed at the time.
Cam’ron, in his recent interview, had described how Jones allegedly confronted Maino about the diss and how things escalated into a more heated exchange. DJ Envy also chimed in with a recollection of the night, claiming Maino had fake-pulled a gun on Jones, causing chaos in the club. However, Maino’s account paints a more peaceful resolution, eventually leading to the two becoming “way cooler” than before.
