Despite reaching superstar status, Megan Thee Stallion’s label has put the release of her debut album and future music on hold.
Megan revealed the shocking news on Instagram Live this afternoon that there’s been a disagreement with her label, 1501, that’s preventing her from releasing new music.
In the clip, she explained that after signing with new management under Roc Nation, she was enlightened on things within her label contract that should be changed. However, when she brought her concerns to 1501, things went “left.” As a result, they informed her that she cannot release new music.
Megan and fans have since started a “Free Meg” hashtag on Twitter.
This news comes after the big announcement of “Hot Girl Summer” and “Big Ole Freak” becoming RIAA-certified Platinum records.
