Metro has been working on the ‘Heroes & Villains’ album for over two years

Metro Boomin has been working on his new album, Heroes & Villains, for a while. During an interview with the Full Send Podcast released over the weekend, the Atlanta producer revealed that his team shot the Heroes & Villains short film one and half years ago. Directed by Gibson Hazard, the six-minute film co-starred Morgan Freeman and Lakeith Stanfield, as well as Young Thug & Gunna.

At first, Metro was asked how long it took him to create his latest album, to which he replied, “I say, two years and some change. In the moment, but looking back it kinda works. You know but in the moment it’s just continuous. Then I thought I’d drop it, then I be like ‘hold on, let’s push it back, let’s do this and let’s do this, then we push it back.’” He added, “Even the thing we shot with Morgan Freeman and Lakeith, we shot that like a year and a half ago.”
