Metro Boomin’s mother and father died in a murder-suicide incident over the weekend
Platinum producer Metro Boomin’ is in grief as his mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne, was killed by her husband who also died by suicide afterward. According to TMZ, Wayne’s body was found just outside of Atlanta during the weekend and an autopsy is expected to be conducted.
Wayne and her son were reportedly close and she even used to give Boomin’ car rides from St. Louis (where the producer was raised along with his three siblings) so he could work on his musical career.
Over the years, Boomin’ has attained notable success and has worked with the likes of Future, Young Thug, Migos, 21 Savage, and many more.
The producer has one solo album: Not All Heroes Wear Capes, released in 2019 with features from Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Swae Lee, Gunna, Young Thug, Wizkid, J. Balvin, Offset, Kodak Black, and Drake. It debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 with 99,000 album-equivalent units sold in the first week.
