YoungBoy to appear in court in around a month’s time

After recently attaining a major pre-trial win in his federal gun case, NBA YoungBoy gets a trial date for the same. As per a report by Rolling Stone, the court announced on March 7 that the 22-year-old rapper will learn his fate on April 16, at Louisiana’s Middle District.

The federal gun charges go back to a 2020 incident where the Colors rapper and 15 others were busted by the cops during a video shoot in Baton Rouge. The police found drugs, more than a dozen firearms, $47,000 in cash, and a camera with footage of Youngboy allegedly totting guns.

This comes following a big victory YoungBoy scored when U.S. District Court Chief Judge Shelly Dick declared on February 24 the video evidence seized by police was invalid, and that the video evidence was obtained illegally.

Speaking to Rolling Stones, Youngboy’s defense lawyer Drew Findling expressed his confidence in the case after the video evidence was dropped. “We’re 100 percent convinced of his innocence, and now we have to continue to evaluate our strategy,” Findling said.

He added, “the unconstitutionality of law enforcement was clearly evident to the court and resulted in a slew of evidence of being thrown out. We’re looking forward to going to court.”
