Nicki Minaj has been teasing her own record label for a while
It looks like Nicki Minaj has finally launched her own record label. Earlier in the week, DMV budding rapper Tate Kobang revealed on Instagram that he’s inked a new deal with Nicki’s new label. “Welp thats cats out the bag,” Tate wrote on his IG story. “Yeah I just closed my deal and signed to Nicci as a artist. Damn.”
Earlier this year, Nicki shouted out Tate during an Instagram Live session and announced the launching of her label. “I see you, Tate Kobang. I see you boo boo,” Nicki said at the time. “It’s about that time to announce my record label, y’all.”
During an interview with Joe Budden earlier this year, the rapper also revealed her plans to start her own management company.
Tate came into limelight in 2015 with his mixtape, Live Hazey, that spawned the single ‘’Bank Rolls Remix.’’ He later secured a deal with 300 Entertainment. He was also credited as a co-writer on Metro Boomin’, 21 Savage, and Drake’s ‘’Mr. Right Now’’ off Savage Mode II.
