Glizzy says Queen Bey dancing to his breakout hit was a “big moment”
Shy Glizzy remembers the time in 2015 when Beyoncé covered his song “Awesome” live onstage as a decisive moment in his career. During an interview on DJ Akademiks‘ Off The Record podcast, the Washington D.C native reflected on how he learned that Bey had performed his track at the Global Citizen Festival in New York‘s Central Park.
“Nah, she didn’t even call me, she just did that s**t. I don’t even know how it happened,” Jefe said when Ak asked if Bey called him before the performance. “That s**t just was going viral, and I’m like ‘What the f**k?’ ‘Cause I don’t watch s**t like that. I seen that s**t on the Internet, I was like ‘Damn, that’s crazy.’ Then they brung me out on her tour when she came to the city. So that was even bigger. N***a seen Jay, all of them, Beyoncé. That s**t was big, man, that was definitely a big moment. That was a highlight of my career, one of them.”
