Swizz Beatz and Timbaland say they will be returning with Verzuz “harder than we ever went”
Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have reportedly settled their $28 million lawsuit with Triller, Rolling Stone reports. This paves way for the return of Verzuz.
Swizz and Timb sued Triller after the company acquired Verzuz in 2021 for an unknown figure and claimed to have already paid “over $50 million in cash and stock.” The two producers will have their Verzuz ownership stakes increased as part of the settlement.
“Verzuz has always been a platform that is by the artists, for the artists and with the people,” both Swizz and Timb revealed in a statement. “We’re glad to come to an amicable agreement with Triller and continue giving fans the music and community that they’ve come to know and love from the brand.”
Triller executive chairman and co-founder Bobby Sarnevesht added, “Verzuz and Triller will always be a safe place and outlet for creators and their art,” he stated. “Nothing will change that. Creators started this and will continue building it. This is a victorious moment in the Triller and Verzuz relationship as we march together toward the public markets.”
