50 Cent Defends Las Vegas Residency, Shuts Down Critics

50 refuses to let critics compare his Las Vegas residency to those of Usher or Breezy

50 Cent isn’t going to let his critics have the last word, especially when it comes to comparing his Las Vegas residency to that of Usher or Chris Brown.

The G-Unit frontman recently finished off a six-show run at PH Live, located within the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino complex. While the residency did receive a little flak for the audio quality, it proved to be quite the draw with audience members, even netting 50 $15 million and solidifying it as a must-see event in the City of Sin.

At the last event, 50 addressed the criticism in frank terms, saying that anyone could make claims about audio being bad. “They said the audio was bad,” he reported with a smile. Telling the audience: “Bitch, you was supposed to say something like, ’50 be doing this shit’ [gestures with hand]. Don’t say the music was bad.”

Comparing himself to Usher and Chris Brown, he quipped: “What you thought, I was going to be out here rollerblading like Usher? I saw Chris flying around Africa. I have no records that would get me flying across Africa.’”

Coming back on stage, 50 pumped the crowd for more: “If y’all not tired, let me see y’all put your hands up one for me.”

For 50, the residency is just what it says on the tins: it delivers on his nomenclature.

Fif’ celebrates box office success and considers new career opportunities

50 Cent is kicking off 2025 on a high note, with Den of Thieves 2 achieving major success at the box office. The action-packed sequel, which 50 Cent produced, raked in $5.8 million on its opening day, surpassing the first film’s $5.6 million debut in 2018. While 50 doesn’t appear onscreen this time, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Gerard Butler return to reprise their roles. On Instagram, the rapper-turned-producer celebrated the film’s No. 1 debut, writing, “Check me out Den of Thieves 2 🎥 #1 in theaters what away to start 2025.”

In addition to his film success, 50 Cent recently responded to actor and comedian DeRay Davis, who suggested the rapper host the 2025 Emmy Awards. Davis praised 50 for his comedic chops, saying he’d be an ideal candidate for the role. 50 caught wind of the comments and showed interest in the idea, commenting, “@deraydavis this is so cool, you saying this made my day. 2025 is gonna be the year. Turn down for what!”

Although 50 Cent has no previous experience as an awards show host, he’s no stranger to performing, having just wrapped up a limited concert residency in Las Vegas. However, his residency wasn’t without controversy. Popular Sin City blogger Star Fish harshly criticized the show, describing the performance as lacking energy and claiming the sound and stage design were subpar. The review went viral, sparking a response from 50, who defended his style of performance.

50 retorted, “They said the audio was bad… I said, ‘Bitch, you was supposed to say some shit like, ’50 be doing this shit.’” He went on to add, “What you thought, I was gonna be out here rollerblading like Usher? I seen some shit, Chris Brown was flying in Africa. I don’t have records that require me to fly in Africa.”

Despite the mixed review, 50 continues to thrive across multiple industries, showing that he’s still very much at the top of his game.

50 expressed excitement on Instagram after meeting Ving Rhames during his Las Vegas residency

50 Cent continues his residency in Las Vegas, where he wows crowds with some of the most famous people who come to see him. Recently, the G-Unit mogul had the opportunity to spend some time with veteran actor Ving Rhames, best known for his roles in Mission: Impossible, Pulp Fiction, and Baby Boy. He announced his excitement on Instagram, posting a picture with Rhames and captioning: “Ving Rhames came to see me. I’m done, this is crazy. Ok 1 more show Vegas and I’m out! @50centaction I’m lit.”

However, Rhames is not the only notable name to attend 50’s shows. Earlier in the series, he opened up his residency to Amanda Bynes, the amazing 90s Nickelodeon star, and Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel. Quite clearly, this has been one of the hotspots for celebrity sightings.

Indeed, within the ambit of that Final Lap Tour, his last-ever shows in Las Vegas as part of the program have been described as a befitting sweet finale for either the musician or his fans. With one final show to go in Las Vegas, the rapper is going out with aplomb, leaving a legacy full of living memories for both fans and celebrity attendees.

Even as the curtains draw, 50 Cent remains a draw for big names to his shows, proving that his influence may go beyond music.

Jim Jones Fires Back at 50 Cent and Cam’ron Over Past Feuds

Jim criticized 50 Cent and Cam’ron for revisiting his 2007 on-stage appearance with 50 during a tumultuous Dipset period

Jim Jones spoke about the recent comments 50 Cent and Cam’ron directed at him regarding his on-stage appearance with 50 in 2007, which took place during that tumultuous period for Dipset. Speaking on Justin Laboy’s Respectfully podcast, Jones did not hold back in criticizing the two rappers for bringing back the past.

“Them n-ggas be on my dick,” Jones said bluntly. “I did a lot for them n-ggas in their life. Pause, though. Get off my dick! It’s only space on there for baby girl.”

Jones dismissed Cam’ron’s claim that he was trying to fix the rift within Dipset before the show, saying: “That n-gga couldn’t pull nothing together. Nobody could tell me nothing. I was my own boss.”

He justified his getting on stage together with 50 Cent despite their rivalry in the past. “They called me like, ‘Yo, you wanna come out and perform?’ I said, ‘Yeah! I got the hottest record.’ I wasn’t on nobody’s friendship. I was a pirate.”

Jones also made a public admonishment for Cam’ron’s bitter exchange with 50 on Hot 97, branding it “childish” and “corny”.

Although the drama had long since mellowed, it shows through what he has said, that there are still some bones to pick concerning the way the Dipset drama unfolded when they were at their peak.

50 Cent Open to Hosting 2025 Emmy Awards After DeRay Davis Suggestion

DeRay Davis suggested should host the next Emmy Awards, sparking excitement on social media

Actor and comedian DeRay Davis has recently proposed that hip-hop superstar icon, 50 Cent should host the next Emmy Awards, setting social media ablaze. In an interview moment with TMZ, Davis was indirectly issuing a statement, saying, “This is gonna sound crazy, but I think 50 Cent should host the Emmys. He funny… and deserving. Why not?”

50 Cent having the theory quickly caught a whiff of it and released an enthusiastic post: “@deraydavis this is so cool, you saying this made my day. 2025 is gonna be the year. Turn down for what!”

Although 50 Cent hasn’t hosted anything before, his unique charisma and flamboyant American personality could make the world believe he is God-given for creating a host. He recently finished the first concert residency in Las Vegas displaying his magical stage presence, but it was not a full success. For example, it received a bad review from Las Vegas blogger Star Fish, who mentioned production and sound design issues.

Notable yet received mixed feedback; however, it left fans wondering about how 50 Cent may fare as an awards show host in the future. However, should he have an audience at the 2025 Emmys, it would be very different from the traditional format and keep making a further mark in defining his legacy as an ever-more versatile entertainer.

50 Cent Responds to Jim Jones’ Comments About 2007 Performance with Mockery and Legal Transcripts

Fif’ fired back at Jim Jones over comments about their 2007 performance

50 Cent clapped back at Jim Jones for last week’s remarks made by the Dipset rapper about their notorious performance together in 2007. In an interview with Justin Laboy, Jones revisited that moment, taking shots at both 50 and Cam’ron, which sparked a quick response from the rapper of G-Unit.

On Wednesday (January 8), 50 Cent posted a selfie with JAY-Z, Diddy, Fat Joe, and Remy Ma at the 2017 Roc Nation brunch to highlight Jim Jones outside the group’s fold. The ridicule of an image was soon followed by a more serious post, a court transcript from 6ix9ine’s racketeering trial that allegedly includes a discussion between Jones, referred to as “Individual-1,” about the violent treatment of the “Gummo” rapper and calling out his gang affiliation.

“LOL [grinning face emoji] INDIVIDUAL 1 calling the shots out here, I know you’re working so please don’t say gangster shit to me INDIVIDUAL 1!” is a funny caption from 50 to the post.

This is the latest in the ongoing long-standing feud between the two, who have continued to trade barbs in the public eye.

Jim responds to 50 Cent’s informant accusations with a dismissive post on Instagram

Jim Jones has hit back at 50 Cent after the G-Unit soldier insinuated that Jones was an informant in the racketeering case involving 6ix9ine and the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. The two rappers have already traded barbs, and he said that Jim Jones would have loved to come with him for the performance in the recent interview with Cam’ron, where 50 talked about convincing Jones to perform with him during their 2000s feud with Killa Cam-an move that Jones later described as “devious.”

In return, 50 Cent shared a court transcript of intercepts in wiretapped conversations where Jones had been tagged as Individual-1, allegedly plotting Nine Trey-related things. 50 took to Instagram to mock Jones, writing, “LOL INDIVIDUAL 1 calling the shots out here, I know you working so please don’t say gangster shit to me INDIVIDUAL 1!”-the jab was directed at Jones under the current case.

Then again, after Thursday, January 9, Jones returned with a smash refuting the claims and the curse he directed to 50 Cent as a liar. In a light-hearted but contemptuous post on Instagram, Jones added, “Why u keep on lying? Why u keep on lying? Big nose emoji I am go back to sleep,” along with an old picture of himself, dismissing the excitement further with humor. The feud is heating up.
