Metro has been Future’s fan since high school

Metro Boomin has proved to be one of the top talents in the game, but his chemistry with Future has been top of the line. During a recent conversation with Tmr0 Network, Young Metro revealed how he approaches his collaborations with Hndrx.

“I just try to wow myself and that’s a part of keeping that kid and that fan in me always alive, you know what I’m saying,” Metro says. “Everybody I work with, I always been fans of. Like even before I met Future, I was always a fan in high school.

“So when I get with him it’s like that inner fan to me, that 10th grade fan, that junior year fan is like, ‘Okay, let me try to make a song with this n-gga that I would just be like, yeah, I wanna play this shit all the time.’ I feel like that’s the key.”

He added, “And it go back to people having other motives on why they doing what they doing. Like maybe they just trying to get some money or try to just get this accolade, purely for what comes with it or whatever.

“And they just approaching it wrong bro. They feel like they gotta make something for everybody or try to appease these people; or ‘this is in now, so let me try to do this;’ or this is for that result. It’s just not pure.”

Metro and Future have a new album, We Don’t Trust You Niggas, expected to arrive between March 22 and April 12.

Metro Boomin says TikTok encourages ‘forced pandering’ by ‘artists and labels’

Young Metro sees some flaw in TikTok music

Metro Boomin recognizes talent in those who create fun clips on TikTok, but is disgraced with how, according to him, artists and record labels forcefully shove shallow and empty music into the audience.

“I love the creativity and appreciation the kids show for the music on TikTok but I don’t like the forced pandering from artists and labels that results in these lifeless and soulless records,” he wrote on X/Twitter.

Metro’s rant is a reaction to UMG’s recent split with TikTok, leading to the pulling of music from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice.

UMG ended the contract after charging TikTok with financially benefiting from the label’s music in their expense, as well as failing to protect artists from threats such as AI impersonation. In response, TikTok accused UMG of being motivated by greed.

Hit previously dissed Metro in unreleased track

Hit-Boy has good words to say about Metro Boomin despite dissing him in a song preview last year. During a recent sit-down with Back On Figg show host T-Rell, Hit revealed his pride for Metro and his achievements, especially with his latest album Heroes & Villains.

“It’s dope what Metro Boomin just did with his album and having the right artists on there and doing real numbers,” Hit said. “That’s a good push for producers. I’m in full support of that.”

Last March, Hit-Boy previewed a record on Instagram where he dissed a few high profile producers including Young Metro. “I’m usually homeboys with producers I get compared to, but on this one I want to say I’m stretched out, extra leg room/ I don’t really know dude, he seem like a cool cat/ But I never once heard Metro Boomin do boom bap,” Hit rapped on the snippet.

The “Niagra Falls” producer later fired back with a line from Kendrick Lamar’s “Rich Spirit”: “Stop playin’ with me ‘fore I turn you to a song.”
