    Metro has been working on the ‘Heroes & Villains’ album for over two years

    Metro Boomin has been working on his new album, Heroes & Villains, for a while. During an interview with the Full Send Podcast released over the weekend, the Atlanta producer revealed that his team shot the Heroes & Villains short film one and half years ago. Directed by Gibson Hazard, the six-minute film co-starred Morgan Freeman and Lakeith Stanfield, as well as Young Thug & Gunna.

    At first, Metro was asked how long it took him to create his latest album, to which he replied, “I say, two years and some change. In the moment, but looking back it kinda works. You know but in the moment it’s just continuous. Then I thought I’d drop it, then I be like ‘hold on, let’s push it back, let’s do this and let’s do this, then we push it back.’” He added, “Even the thing we shot with Morgan Freeman and Lakeith, we shot that like a year and a half ago.”

    Metro and Thugger devised a way of measuring the strength of their unreleased songs

    Metro Boomin was featured on one of the latest episodes of the Full Send Podcast over the weekend where he opened up about several things. The “Super Hero” producer revealed that he and Young Thug used to burn their unreleased music on CDs and give them to DJs at clubs so that they could scale the reaction from the audience.

    “Man, me and [Young] Thug used to do songs and like, soon as we get done doing it, like this is when we still had CDs, I would burn a CD on the computer and we would go to the club and would take it to the DJ like, ‘Yo, let’s go hear this and see what’s going on,’” Metro explained. “And watch everybody’s reaction, you know, vibe out, throw some money and get everybody hype.”

    Metro Boomin reveals Future’s strange studio requirements. During a recent interview with The Full Send Podcast, the “Creepin’” producer explained that Future prefers the studio dark when he’s recording. Strangely enough, he rocks dark shades most of the time.

    “You might come in the studio with future one day and it’s just him and engineers with candles lit and it’s just dark,” Metro told hosts, Kyle Forgeard and Aaron Steinberg. “Future like the studio dark any time anyway. Like he like damn near pitch black with the shades on and I still don’t know how he does but, you know what I’m saying.”

    Future scores his tenth Top 10 song on Billboard Hot 100, thanks to Metro Boomin’s “Super Heroes” which features Chris Brown as well. The track debuted at No. 8 this week.

    As for Chris Brown, this marks his 17th Top 10 song and for Metro, it’s his fourth.

    Future now has an overall 157 entries on the Hot 100.

    “Super Heroes” is the second song on Metro’s latest album, Heroes & Villains. All 15 songs from the album have occupied the chart. The album itself is currently leading the Billboard 200.

    Metro Boomin is on pace to sell over 100K units in the second week

    Metro Boomin is still ruling the airwaves with his new album, Heroes & Villains. According to HITSDD, the album is on track to drop to the third spot on Billboard 200 with 103K album-equivalent units. The project will follow behind SZA and Taylor Swift’s SOS and Midnights which are projected to earn 311K and 138K units respectively.

    The 15-song album currently occupies the No. 1 position after it earned 185K units in the first week.

    Young Metro is thankful to his supporters

    Metro Boomin is celebrating his new album, Heroes & Villains, debuting on top of the charts. The super producer logged into his Instagram page Wednesday (December 14) to appreciate his fans for “listening and supporting” his latest studio effort.

    Metro shared a photo of BMF actor Lil Meech, and designers Fatima & Hidji World putting a crown on him. “#1 album without saying a word I feel so blessed thank you everyone for listening and supporting,” the 29-year-old wrote to his 6.6M followers.

    Heroes & Villains became Metro’s third No. 1 album after it debuted 185K equivalent album units in the first week. It’s the biggest opening week for a producer album in history.

    It’s Young Metro season

    Metro Boomin teased a collaboration with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie this week when he shared a picture of himself in a black Spider-Man suit on Instagram. According to HipHopDx, following the release of the official trailer on Tuesday (December 13), co-writers and producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller confirmed during a YouTube Premium after-party that Metro will be making the theme song of the forthcoming movie that arrives June 2, 2023.

    The first installment of the film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, was released in 2018 with Swae Lee & Post Malone’s “Sunflower” as the theme song. The record went diamond in 2021 and became the most certified song in RIAA history in November this year after going 17x platinum.

    Metro Boomin scores his third No. 1 album with ‘Heroes & Villains’

    It’s official. Metro Boomin’s new album Heroes & Villains now occupies the top spot on Billboard 200 with 185K album-equivalent units sold in the first week. According to Billboard, of the total units earned, 179K are from 233.4M streams and 5K from pure sells, as well as 1K track equivalent album units.

    The album gives Young Metro his third No. 1 album, as well as the biggest first-week sales by a producer album. The 15-track LP features Morgan Freeman’s exceptional voice in spoken words, as well as contributions from the likes of 21 Savage, A$AP Rocky, Chris Brown, Future, Gunna, John Legend, Travis Scott, the late Takeoff, Don Toliver, The Weeknd, Young Thung, the late Takeoff among others.
