The federal gun charges go back to a 2020 incident where the Colors rapper and 15 others were busted by the cops during a video shoot in Baton Rouge. The police found drugs, more than a dozen firearms, $47,000 in cash, and a camera with footage of Youngboy allegedly totting guns.

This comes following a big victory YoungBoy scored when U.S. District Court Chief Judge Shelly Dick declared on February 24 the video evidence seized by police was invalid, and that the video evidence was obtained illegally.

Speaking to Rolling Stones, Youngboy’s defense lawyer Drew Findling expressed his confidence in the case after the video evidence was dropped. “We’re 100 percent convinced of his innocence, and now we have to continue to evaluate our strategy,” Findling said.

He added, “the unconstitutionality of law enforcement was clearly evident to the court and resulted in a slew of evidence of being thrown out. We’re looking forward to going to court.”

It took NBA Youngboy just four years to hit the milestone.

Despite being surrounded by multiple legal troubles, Louisiana rapper NBA YoungBoy continues to break caeeer records. Of the 20 albums the “Flossin” rapper has charted on Billboard 200, there are four No.1 projects including AI Youngboy 2, 38 Baby 2, Top, and Sincerely, Kentrell. There are also five Top 5s and eight Top 10s. It is worth noting that Youngboy currently has only two studio albums under his belt: Top and Sincerely Kentrell. This means the rest of the projects he has charted are commercial mixtapes and EPs.

YoungBoy started making buzz in 2016 as a teenager and had his big break the following year. Since the begining of his career, the Baton Rouge rapper has been dropping two or more projects almost every year, making his present accomplishments a result of his hard work and consistency over the time.

The multi-platinum rapper is on house arrest in Utah in connection to his Louisiana gun case. He is currently working on his third studio album which might drop in six months.
