    Nicki Minaj is not done cementing her position in the upper echelon of the female rap game. According to Chart Data, the 41-year-old mother of one is now the first female rapper to have five songs surpass 1B streams each on Spotify.

    The records include: “Tusa,” with Karol G,
    “Swalla” by Jason Derule alongside Ty Dolla $ign, “Side to side,” by Ariana Grande and “Bang Bang” with Ariana & Jessie J., as well as “Starships.”

    This week, Nicki became the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums under her belt after Pink Friday 2 emerged atop the charts with 228k units sold.

    Nicki’s new album opens big

    Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday 2 is now sitting at the pinnacle of the Billboard 200 after it sold 228k equivalent album units in the opening week. 92k of this being a result of pure copies sold.

    This marks the Queen of New York’s third studio release to top the charts, making her the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums and surpassing Foxy Brown who previously held the title.

    The album also broke Nielsen’s record of the biggest week ever in vinyl sales by a female rap album after it sold 25k of them.

    Other albums by Nicki to go No. 1 include the first installation Pink Friday, and its follow up, Pink Friday: Roman ReloadedThe Re-Up.

    As Nicki Minaj prepares to unleash her new album Pink Friday 2 this Friday (December 8), she shares a glimpse of her experience recording the project as a mother.

    “It’s been a very different experience creating an album as a momma. Studio requires so much time to perfect so many diff things…Time that quite frankly, I’d much rather spend with my chunky liddo pumpkin pie baby bubba,” Nicki wrote on X December 2.

    She added, “and you guys know I have a hard time letting the music go b/c I’m a perfectionist & to me it’s never rlly ‘done.’”
