    Polo G’s friendship with Lil Tjay goes back to their breakout days, and he knows his buddy well. Speaking to Justin Credible on Power 106 this week, the “Grown Man” rapper was discussing some of his friends that he is betting on arriving late if they were to be called up.

    “Lil Tjay. On gang, for real,” Polo replied without hesitation. “I tell him to pull up to the studio, I tell him at 8.00, he come at 1.00 in the morning. You will be in there all day waiting on brodie.”

    Polo G promises new album is ‘behind’ new La Lakers freestyle

    Polo G stopped by Power 106 on Tuesday (June 13) where he dropped his third La Lakers freestyle for Justin Credible. The 24-year-old rapper hopped on Ja Rule’s 2004 hit “New York” beat and laid down his thoughts for around two minutes.

    When asked why he chose the beat, the rapper said he wanted to be “different” while expressing his love for New York.

    On Instagram, Capalot reminded his fans that he only drops freestyles when he has a new album on the way. He is currently putting together his collab project with 808 Mafia’s Southside. “La Leakers Round 3️⃣🌪️🌪️😮‍💨🔥& Yk ion just Drop Freestyles unless A album comin Behind it,” he wrote.

    Polo G and Juice Wrld were close friends before the latter passed away from drug overdose in 2019. During a recent interview with Rap Caviar Presents, Capalot revealed that Juice’s demise made him stop “popping Percocets.”

    “It made me look at a lot of shit differently. That made me stop popping Percocets altogether, though. ‘Cause I know he wouldn’t want me on that shit,” Polo said. “Being able to see that and say, ‘Damn, my son can get it together — I need to [as well]”

    Polo G makes a move ahead of Soulja Boy as far as being the first rapper to do things is concerned. The Chicago rapper hopped on Instagram this week to unveil world’s first chain with an iPhone pendant on it. The Ice Box-made chain contains 90 carats of VVS diamonds and weighs over a half kilo gram.

    The pendant is “an iced out bulldog holding an iPhone” that has a charging portal on the left side. As he displays the chain, the music video for his 2021 song, “Black Hearted,” which was dedicated to his deceased friend B Money plays on the iPhone.

    Polo G, Southside and Future are joining forces on an upcoming gem. On Tuesday (January 17), Southside, who is the leader of the 808 Mafia producer collective, shared photos from a music video set that featured Capalot and Hendrixx as well.

    “Motion picture shit it’s almost that Time @polo.capalot @future TTG,” Southside wrote in the caption.

    Polo G and Southside currently have a joint album in the vault which they have had their sleeves rolled up for since 2021. While both artists haven’t revealed the official title or release date for the body of work, they’ve teased two possible titles in the past: 1300×800 and Northside.

    Polo G might be working with Tjay on his forthcoming collab album with producer Southside

    Polo is gearing up to unleash his joint album with 808 Mafia producer Southside which is set to arrive in the future. On Monday (December 19), he shared a couple of photos and videos suggesting he is working on new music with Lil Tjay. He also shared a clip of him and Southside listening to unreleased music in the studio.

    During his recent visit on Zias, Polo explained what is to be expected of the forthcoming album.

    “This album I connected back to my roots for sure, the sh*t I came in with that I’m most known for,” Cap said. “The project got primary feelings, there’s some toxic sh*t, love sh*t, some street sh*t, gangster sh*t. Any n***a that’s been through a lot, you gon’ be able to relate.”

    He added that it’ll arrive in the first quarter of 2023. “I’m still working sh*t out but first quarter of the year (2023) for sure.”
