In the wake of YNW Melly complaining about the mistreatment he’s facing in prison, Gucci Mane reveals that his artist Pooh Shiesty isn’t living under good conditions either. The 1017 leader took to Instagram on Wednesday (December 14) to condemn the authorities for imprisoning Shiesty 1500 miles away from his home, where he stays under a “23 hr lock down and given empty food trays.”
“We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated! @poohshiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lock down and given empty food trays USP Pollack should be investigated immediately,” Gucci wrote, adding, “This is unacceptable!”
Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr., has been in jail since last summer in relation to a shooting in Miami where he opened fire at a man at a hotel. A new photo of Shiesty reportedly in jail surfaced on the internet early this week. The new pic shows a bearded Shiesty in between two other inmates who are all dressed in white.
In January 2022, the rapper’s sentencing was set for April 7, where he will face Judge K. Michael Moore. This was after the incarcerated rapper pleaded guilty to a single charge of conspiracy to poses a firearm in furtherance to violent and drug-trafficking charges. As a result of the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped the charge of using a firearm “in furtherance of another federal crime of violence” which could have seen him spending the rest of his life in prison.
Also in that month, prosecutors along with Magistrate Judge Lauren Fleischer Louis recommended a 97-months sentence. Shiesty’s lawyers appealed for a bond but Louis rejected it in 24 hours.
The New 1017 star Pooh Shiesty drops new visuals from behind bars
Pooh Shiesty is under federal detention but his camp is doing its best to keep the business going. On Friday (July 9), a music video for “Switching it Up,” a track that finds the Memphis rapper uniting with G Herbo & No More Heroes, premiered.
Pooh Shiesty to remain in federal detention until trial
A Miami federal judge orders Pooh Shiesty to remain detained in federal custody until the trial on robbery and firearm charges. As Pitchfork reports, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida announced the ruling.
The charges stem from an October 2020 incident where Shiesty and two accomplices reportedly shot and robbed individuals who were selling them marijuana and high-end sneakers. The altercation was caught on a surveillance camera.
The “Back in Blood” rapper was recently indicted on the federal charges of conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence, conspiring to commit a Hobbs Act robbery, committing a Hobbs Act robbery, and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
Shiesty was picked up by the authorities in June on aggravated battery charges after he was reportedly involved in a confrontation outside of a Miami strip club that left a security guard shot. Shiesty was out on bond at the time. The witness in the case later recanted his testimony.
According to docs seen by TMZ, the”Back in Blood” artist is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly firearm. This follows a May 30 incident where someone grabbed straying money from Pooh’s pockets as he was being escorted out of King of Diamonds nightclub. The rapper reportedly then turned and shot it to the ground, hitting a security guard who tried to stop him from shooting, in the ankle. The victim allegedly identified Pooh in a photo.
Shiesty, who’s real name is Lontrell Denell Williams Jr, faced a judge today (June 9) in relation to his aggravated battery charges from KODs. Williams was granted a $10k bond and banned from King of Diamonds. Shiesty will remain in jail until he faces the judge once more for another Miami firearm case.
The arrest comes on top of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and armed battery charges from last October. This was after a shooting that happened at a Bay Harbor parking lot that left two people injured. Bullets started flying following a marijuana and sneaker trade going wrong.

Pooh Shiesty and Lil Durk perform their hit song, “Back in Blood”
Pooh Shiesty makes his first appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. The Memphis rapper performed his breakout hit “Back in Blood” with Lil Durk. The performance begins with Shiesty, who rocks an Off-White hoodie, approaching from in front of a Buick’s headlight. He then performs his verse before Durk takes his turn. The entire show looks menacing, to say the least.
