    Maryland rapper Cordae dropped his sophomore album, From a Bird’s Eye View, on January 14 with features from Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, Gunna, and more. According to HDD, the 14-song project is projected to sell around 21,000 album-equivalent units this week. This estimation places the album on #16 on Billboard 200 next week.

    Commercially, Cordae’s new album doesn’t compare to his last album, 2019’s The Lost Boy, which debuted at #13 selling 25,000 album-equivalent units.

    After 2 1/2 years, P.G.-County native, Cordae, is ready to drop his highly anticipated album. From A Bird’s Eye View will drop January 14.

    To build up the hype, he drops a Steve Jobs, Apple-inspired promo video for his sophomore efforts.

    Lil Wayne is the godfather of modern rap and has an endless list of rappers he influenced, and Cordae is one of them. According to multi-platinum producer Hit-Boy, he is behind the production of an upcoming collab from Cordae and Weezy.

    Hit-Boy took to Twitter Friday (November 19) to share a clip from a video shoot of a collab between the two rappers. “New Cordae and Lil Wayne otw produced by me,” the producer tweeted.

    During a 2020 interview between Wayne and Cordae, the North Carolina native was explaining the progress of his upcoming album before Wayne let him know that he was open for a collab.

    “All you gotta do is give me the… All you gotta do is text me the song,” Weezy told Cordae. “I’ll murder it and send you the finger so you know it’s dead.”

    In response, Cordae was excited to confirm the possibilities of working with the famed lyricist. “Say less. Say no more,” he replied.

    Ever since Cordae dropped YBN from his moniker last year, many fans were left wondering about the nature of his relationship with Nahmir and Almighty Jay. During a recent interview with Genius, The Lost Boy rapper explained why he left the collective. He also revealed that he asked Nahmir for his blessings before changing his stage name.

    “I remember when I dropped YBN,” he said. “It wasn’t a popular thing at the time. I was gettin’ killed online. And I got tough skin, like, this just what come with the game. I don’t be trippin’ off anything.” He went on to talk about the collective ownership. “Can’t be talkin’ to kids about ownership and all of this when we pushin’ this brand that we don’t even own.”

    “Obviously, it goes without saying, it ain’t nothin’ against Nahmir and Jay. Before I came to the conclusion that I was gon’ drop the three letters, I called Nahmir and I asked for his blessing. That was what was most important to me, I don’t care what anybody else thinks.”

    Former YBN collective rapper Cordae hints that he may be releasing an EP, probably a four-pack before his next album drops. A clip has surfaced of the young lyricist explaining his next motives.

    “I am think I might drop some slight before I drop an album, I might drop four-packs something like that right before the album, something smooth,” said Cordae. He added, “I am just getting better, In this quarantine, I haven’t gone four days without recording.”


    Cordae getting all set up to release his next album as a follow-up to his critically-acclaimed The Lost Boy debut released in 2019. Back in March, the “Gifted” artist took to Instagram to announce that his album is almost done, and that he’ll dropping something before the album. “Album almost done, but sumn’s comin just until then,” he wrote while sharing several snippets on the ‘Gram and Twitter.

    The anticipation for P.G. County, MD-native Cordae’s sophomore album has grown tremendously throughout the pandemic. As he continues to tease tracks, fans become more eager.

    Today (March 26), 23-year-old Cordae took to his social media accounts to preview a new track, and announce that his album is almost done. To keep fans as patient as possible, Cordae previews a new banger, where he flexes a few different flows and brags differently.

    Cordae shows off new music

    North Carolina-born, P.G. County, MD-raised artist, Cordae has been working hard preparing to drop his next album. The rapper seems to be growing better and more versatile. He recently shared a snippet of what he has been working on. The preview finds the rapper snappily flowing over what sounds like more of a Trap beat.

    The former YBN member has revealed in interviews that he has been working on his sophomore project. “… I’m working on it like crazy. I’m like a hundred songs deep in it. You know what I’m saying? Like this next one, I’m really taking everything to a whole nother level. You know what I’m saying? So I really love doing music and perfecting my craft and I’m getting better every day, man. And the new music from here on out is going to show that.” said The Lost Boy rapper in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music.

    Cordae did admit that he still isn’t ready to release the highly anticipated project. He also confirmed that the album doesn’t have a title nor a release date yet. The young lyricist is surely determined to make his next body of work a masterpiece. We will report on any updates about Cordae’s next album in case they surface. Stay tuned.

    Cordae, as promised, has released his new single, “Gifted.” The new single features Roddy Ricch.

    When you envision a future of hip-hop, it wouldn’t be wise to leave the Maryland native out of the conversation (Cordae) and the California artist (Roddy) out of the conversation. As they both show in the new single, they’re gifted. Cordae and Roddy meet each other perfectly in the middle, meshing rapping with melodies.
