Beanie Sigel Confirms Dame Dash’s Claim About JAY-Z Writing for Memphis Bleek

Sigel admits Hov helped Bleek with lyrics, but clarifies not all were ghostwritten

Beanie Sigel has backed up Dame Dash’s recent controversial claim that JAY-Z secretly wrote some of Memphis Bleek’s lyrics during their time at Roc-A-Fella. In a new interview with The Art of Dialogue, Sigel responded affirmatively when asked if Jay helped Bleek with his rhymes, especially on tracks that featured the trio.

Sigel recited a verse from Bleek’s song “You, Me, Him and Her” and stated, “He always cheated for Bleek. He had to cheat for Bleek, especially if us three was on a record together.” According to Beans, Jay’s lyrical assistance was essential for Bleek to keep up with him and Sigel on the mic.

However, Sigel clarified that Jay didn’t write all of Bleek’s lyrics, just enough to help him compete with the more seasoned rappers. “He wrote enough though,” Sigel explained, adding that it was clear to everyone around them.

Dame Dash had earlier revealed that Jay’s ghostwriting helped Bleek stay relevant, but Bleek himself has denied the claims, joking about the situation on social media. The controversy continues as Jay-Z has yet to comment publicly.

Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Records Stake Auctioned to Settle Debt, But Legal Woes Continue

More Assets Could Be Sold Off as Filmmaker Seeks Further Compensation

Dame Dash‘s stake in Roc-A-Fella Records was recently auctioned off to satisfy a massive debt – but it wasn’t enough, so he may be seeing more of his assets hit the auction block shortly.

As previously reported, Dame’s 33.3 percent interest in the famed record label was recently sold off at a public auction to collect the $823k he owes to movie producer Josh Webber for copyright infringement and defamation over the 2016 film Dear Frank.

However, he also owed $193k in back child support and faced a lawsuit filed by photographer Monique Bunn, another by a writer named Edwyna Brooks, and a whopping $8 million tax debt to the state of New York.

An anonymous New York state government employee placed the winning $1 million bid for the shares. The bid covered the back child support, with the rest going toward the back taxes. This means that the Dear Frank lawsuit wasn’t settled at all, and now the team behind it is looking to come for more.

According to documents first spotted by AllHipHop and viewed by HipHopDX, Josh Webber and his lawyer, Christopher Brown, have filed a request seeking ownership documents from the embattled mogul. They hope to get an order that forces Dame to deliver his media company, Poppington, LLC, and/or copyrights to films he produced to the United States Marshal.

A judge has yet to rule on the matter.

From Roc-A-Fella to Rings: Webber Aims to Seize Dame Dash’s Assets

Dame Dash’s ongoing financial troubles continue to mount as movie producer Josh Webber seeks to claim more of the embattled mogul’s assets to recover an $823,000 judgment for copyright infringement and defamation. In a court filing on January 13, Webber’s attorney, Christopher Brown, has requested that Dame’s engagement ring be auctioned off to help satisfy the debt.

Webber pointed to a December 2021 article in AllHipHop, in which Dash described the engagement ring given to him by his fiancée, Raquel Horn. “The ‘engagement ring’ is owned by Dash and subject to public auction,” Brown wrote, citing Dash’s acknowledgment of the ring’s significance.

This legal battle is just the latest chapter in a years-long feud that dates back to 2016 when Dash was removed from the film Dear Frank after claims of unprofessional behavior. Webber’s company, Muddy Water Pictures, eventually sued Dash for copyright infringement and defamation, accusing him of trying to take credit for the film’s production. The jury sided with Webber in 2022, and Dash now faces this debt and other financial obligations, including $193k in child support and $8 million in back taxes.

With Dame’s stake in Roc-A-Fella already auctioned off, Webber is determined to pursue further assets to settle his claim, including the ring.

N.O.R.E. Fires Back at Dame Dash Over Recent Criticisms of JAY-Z and Drink Champs

The “Superthug” rapper responds after Dame takes shots at his podcast and business partner Hov

N.O.R.E. has responded to Dame Dash’s recent comments, where the Roc-A-Fella co-founder threw shade at both Drink Champs and JAY-Z in connection with a lawsuit involving the rapper. In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Dash suggested that JAY-Z would need the help of “white media” to salvage his reputation, claiming that Drink Champs and Charlamagne Tha God could no longer save him. He said, “He got to get to People magazine and Entertainment Tonight right now ’cause they on his head.”

It didn’t take long for N.O.R.E. to hit back. On his Instagram Stories, he posted, “Lame dash, more clueless than Stacey,” referencing Dame’s cousin who starred in the 1990s teen comedy Clueless.

The “Superthug” rapper also released a video addressing Dash’s ongoing attacks, saying, “You’ve been coming at me. You think I ain’t got time. I’m not like these other people. I got time.” N.O.R.E. emphasized that he wasn’t trying to disrespect Dame but was frustrated by his constant criticisms. “If you got beef with one person, you supposed to keep that beef with one person. You got beef with everybody around [JAY-Z],” he said.

N.O.R.E. also expressed his respect for Dash but criticized his actions. “You became the Lame Dash. We don’t wanna disrespect you,” he added, “But you became the lame chatty patty person that you said you were against. Get your life together.” He ended with an open invitation, saying, “My number’s the same if you wanna work it out.”

This latest exchange is just one of many between N.O.R.E. and Dame Dash, with tensions rising after Dash previously accused N.O.R.E. of trying to get him to drink Cîroc, the vodka brand associated with Diddy, during his 2020 appearance on Drink Champs. The feud continues to brew, leaving fans wondering if the two can ever reconcile.

Dame Dash Recounts the Moment He Left Roc-A-Fella Over JAY-Z’s Relationship with R. Kelly

The mogul opens up about the personal reasons behind his fallout with Hov

Dame Dash has shared new details about the dispute that ultimately led to his departure from Roc-A-Fella Records and the dissolution of his business partnership with JAY-Z. In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Dash explained how his decision to leave the label was sparked by JAY-Z’s continued collaboration with R. Kelly, whose infamous marriage to Dash’s ex-girlfriend Aaliyah when she was just 15 deeply troubled him.

“The fact that Jay was working with him is what used to blow my mind more than anything,” Dash said, reflecting on his feelings at the time. “I don’t know why he wanted to work with this guy so much. Like, why? I’ve never understood it.”

Dash revealed that he confronted JAY-Z directly about the situation. “Everybody knew R. Kelly married Aaliyah at 15. So was the conversation had like, ‘Yo, how you gonna go and do something with this dude?’ Hell yeah that conversation was had!” Dash emphasized that it wasn’t just business—it was deeply personal.

He added, “I was like, ‘Yo, how you gonna do a project with someone who was involved in that situation?’” Dash made it clear that the situation made it impossible for him to continue with Roc-A-Fella. “That alone was the nail in the coffin for me. I was outta there, I was gone. I knew that shit was gonna blow up. I wanted no parts of that shit.”

The fallout between Dash and JAY-Z intensified when Dash learned that JAY-Z continued to work with R. Kelly on the Best of Both Worlds album shortly after Aaliyah’s tragic death in 2001. Dash expressed that he found this even more disrespectful, given the rapper’s rumored romantic feelings for Aaliyah.

Dash was unequivocal about the end of his relationship with JAY-Z, stating, “It wasn’t that I got kicked out of Roc-A-Fella; I left Roc-A-Fella. I was done. I said, ‘Forget all the money, forget all this stuff, I’m out.’ I was left no choice.”

The tension between Dash and JAY-Z has recently resurfaced in the public eye following the sale of Dash’s shares in Roc-A-Fella, Inc., reigniting interest in their fractured relationship.

Dash says Drizzy was interested in buying Roc Nation stake

Dame Dash has recently disclosed that Drake had at one time offered to buy his share of Roc Nation for a whopping $6 million but later backed out. The hip-hop entrepreneur who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z made this revelation on his America Nu Network where he elaborated on the possible transaction that did not materialize. Dash maintained that the offer had indeed been made by the Canadian MC, but that he then pulled out of the deal for whatever obscure reasons.

“Drake did put a bid in for $6 million, but then he disappeared. I don’t know what happened,” he said. “But other than that, no one was serious. No one wanted that shit, period.”

    Dash questions Hov’s financial prosperity

Dame Dash has come out against JAY-Z in light of the failed auction of his Roc-A-Fella shares.

On his America Nu Network, a sad Dash recounted how, as he was walking towards the new stadium, his one-third share of the company was sold to the state of New York for a million dollars.

Disappointed with the outcomes of the widely reported and televised auction, Dash went ahead to quell the hype surrounding the former partner, saying: “What this really taught me was that, in the world, homie isn’t as big as he portrays.”

He continued: “I thought more people would be interested in buying it […] I thought people would at least show up. No one even showed up! […] Jay didn’t even make a bid. He didn’t think it was worth $3 million. A billionaire, supposedly.”

Dame makes fun of Fif’ & Cam

Dame Dash has roped Cam’ron into his ongoing beef with 50 Cent by pointing out a rather curious encounter between the the two.

Speaking on his America Nu Network, Dame made some implicating remarks about the sexual orientation of 50 and Cam by sharing a video of the latter being patted by the former at the waist when they met at an event in New York City last month.

“I called Cam with the serious face like, ‘Yo, I saw that shit with 50 Cent. Why he giving you the pat pat? Since when did n-ggas see each other, they smacking each other on the hips? What’s that all about? What was your reaction?’” Dame said.

“‘Did you say stop? What do you do when a strong-ass n-gga in a tight suit smacks you on the ass?’ You gotta say stop. No pat pat. We not in the pat pat club.’”
