    Ice Cube delivered his 11th studio album, Man Down, on Friday featuring several household names, including Killer Mike.

    The Grammy-winning rapper lent a hand to the last track of the album, “Ego Maniacs,” alongside Busta Rhymes. The collaboration is a dream come true,, according to Killer Mike, as he revealed that he has had this ambition since he was in eighth grade.

    “Been working not waiting to get on an Ice Cube album since 8th Grade. Cannot tell me dreams don’t come true!” Mike wrote.

    Cube put out a lot of socially aware lyrics that inspired millions including Killer Mike making a combination of the two feel like destiny.

    Killer Mike won big during the Grammys earlier this month, taking home three awards. The Run The Jewels artist won the Best Rap Album with Michael, as well as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” alongside Future, André 3000 and Eryn Allen Kane.

    However, while celebrating his triumph that night, things took a baffling turn and he was arrested and hit with a misdemeanor assault charge. Thankfully, he was shortly released.

    Recently speaking to The View, Mike appeared to be dauntless about the incident. “All of my heroes have been in handcuffs – Malcolm, Martin, Mandela, Medgar. I walked out with the same dignity and respect that I walked in with, and I would implore people to just take that from it,” he explained, before owning up to being a little “overzealous” that night.

    Killer Mike is already working on the next project

    Killer Mike took three Grammy trophies home thanks to his new album, Michael. According to his statement during an interview with Apple Music 1 over the Super Bowl weekend, Killer suggested that the album is part of a trilogy and that more is to come.

    “The first album we got to kinda take the nine-year-old to where I’ve grown into as an adult, but I wanna cut deeper,” Killer Mike explained. “There’s deeper levels to go, you know. We already plotting out what the next one’s gonna be, me and Cuz Lightyear were in the studio with Mike Will the next night. And we working.

    “I just wanna work and produce works of art that’s gonna live long after I’m gone. So I can’t do that celebrating this too long. The celebration is fun, but after this, when I get back to Atlanta, I’ll be working.”

    Killer’s new album copped three Grammy nominations

    Chalarmagne Tha God firmly believes no other album should win the Rap Album of the Year Grammy Awards but Killer Mike’s Michael. The radio personality made the remarks in a clip that recently circulated.


    “I know Killer Mike gonna win rap album of the year,” Chalarmagne said. “Grammy, Recording Academy, if Killer Mike does not win rap album of the year for Michael something is wrong. He definitely should win something for sound engineering but there is no better rap album than Killer Mike all year long. Michael is fantastic. Phenomenal project.”

    Released in June, Mike’s album earned three nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards: Rap Album of the Year, as well as Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for the track, “Scientists & Engineers” featuring André 3000 and Future.

    Atlanta rapper Killer Mike was born Michael Santiago Render in 1975. He got his start with OutKast’s Dungeon Family and as 1/2 of Run The Jewels. He’s an activist and founder of Greenwood Bank. He has a wife named Shana and is very involved with his community where he owns a barber shop.

    His solo career started in 2003 after winning a Grammy for “The Whole World” with Outkast. He linked up with El-P of Company Flow to form RTJ in 2013. His style is highly political and socially conscious. He is an organizer in addition to being a rapper.
