    Plies files lawsuit against GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B over ‘Wanna Be’ beat

    Plies accuses the three rappers of stealing one of his hits instrumentals

    Plies has initiated legal action against GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, and Cardi B, alleging that they infringed his beat for their hit song “Wanna Be”.

    Per TMZ, the Florida rapper accuses the three female artists of biting the beat from his 2008 song “Me & My Goons,” which he says Soulja Boy first stole in his 2010 hit “Pretty Boy Swag”.

    The core of the conflict is one particular element which Plies refers to as an “infrared countdown beat.”

    The suit lists as additional defendants Megan’s Hot Girl Productions, as well as Collipark Productions, Universal Music Group, Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group, and Interscope Records.

    GloRilla taps two of the biggest female players in the game for the remix version of her Ehhthang Ehhthang track, “Wanna Be.” The Memphis rapper ganged up with Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion for the record that hit streaming platforms on Friday (May 31).

    “Y’all been asking for this so here it is!! Wanna be remix featuring @theestallion and @iamcardib coming THIS FRIDAY!!” Glo wrote on X this week.

    Glo first announced the song last week while on Meg’s Hot Girl Summer Tour at the Madison Square Garden, New York, where Cardi was brought out onstage.

    The trek, which counts over 30 dates across venues in the US, will kick off on May 14 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN and halt on July 27 at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington D.C.
