    Nicki Minaj’s Lil Uzi Vert-assisted hit record “Everybody” hits new sales milestone. Per Chart Data, the track has now sold 1m units across the US, making it eligible for a platinum certification from RIAA.

    Released in January, the track served as the fourth single from Nicki’s fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2. It went on to peak at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100.

    Nicki explained that she only took “5 minutes” to write the song which she originally recorded for Call For Duty.

    Nicki expands her bussiness ventures

    Nicki Minaj continues to grow her bussiness portfolio as she copes an ownership stake at UK-based footwear company LØCI. Per Allhiphop, the Pink Friday 2 rapper will contribute in developing sneaker designs at the company.

    “Designing this collection with LØCI has been incredibly fulfilling creatively,” Nicki said about the venture in a statement. “As an owner, I’m eager to fuse my artistic vision with sustainable fashion solutions, ensuring we not only create exquisite sneakers but also contribute positively to the environment.”

    Nicki Minaj is currently traveling across the US as part of her Pink Friday 2 Tour. On Thursday (March 28), she was performing in New Jersey where she brought out a special guest, Jadakiss.

    The “Falling 4 U” rapper later took to Instagram to appreciate Jada while revealing her admiration for him. “The one and only Jadakiss graced #GagCity with his presence tonight and I couldn’t feel more honored,” Nicki wrote. “One of my faves of ALL time. Y’all know that’s the truth. Kiss, thank you.”

    Nicki breaks another sales record

    Nicki Minaj continues to cement her position as one of the most successful female rappers of all time. Per Chart Data, the Queens rapper’s single “Super Bass” is now the most certified song by a female rapper after it earned 12× platinum certification from RIAA. This means it has garnered over 12m units across the US.

    Nicki has now surpassed Cardi B who previously held the title with “Bodak Yellow” which is currently 11× platinum. “POW!!! thank you to Republic Records for always having my back. barrrbz!!!!!!” Nicki tweeted in reaction to the news.

    The record first hit the airwaves in 2010 as part of Pink Friday deluxe. It was later released as a single in 2011.

    Spice & Nicki earn platinum certification

    Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s collaboration “Princess Diana” is officially platinum after earning 1m units in the US, per Chart Data.

    The original version of the record was released in January 2023 as an inclusion in Ice Spice’s EP, Like..?, and did not feature Nicki Minaj. Spice dropped the official remix with the Pink Friday 2 rapper in April of that year and it became an instant success.

    Released via Capitol Records and 10K Records, it debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was produced by Spice’s frequent collaborator RiotUSA.

    Rick Ross has enough experience in the bussiness of rap beefs as he has been involved in some of the most ferocious feuds ever. However, during a recent conversation on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, the Bawse revealed that he sees hip hop rivalries as a sport.

    “I think, you know, it’s a sport,” Rozay explained why weighing in on afoot Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion’s beef. “It’s about that. It’s about having fun, you know what I mean? I call it fun.”

    He continued, “I mean, Megan got off on her record. She got off on her joint, you know? And Nicki, being the queen she is in the rap game, she responded. Got off a record. And that’s what you’re supposed to do.”

    UMG ends contract with TikTok

    Major hip hop acts like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and Bad Bunny will not have their music on TikTok as Universal Music Group terminates its contract with the social media app in effect from Wednesday (January 31).

    In a statement released by UMG on Tuesday, the mega-company accuses TikTok of unfairly pocketing more money from their material than they should while paying less to the other party.

    UMG also claims TikTok has failed to provide online security to their artists. The Chinese company hit back at UMG with their own statement arguing the label is being driven by corporate greed and are spreading a “false narrative.”

    Nicki Minaj explains why her documentary has been taking long to materialise. During a conversation on Watch What Happens Live last week, the rapper said that she wanted to drop her album first before embarking on the film which is already done.

    “The documentary is absolutely still coming,” she revealed. “I’ll of course add some new stuff going on in it to reflect the aftermath of Pink Friday 2 and stuff like that, but it’s done.”

    She continued, “I’m sharing stuff that probably nobody would expect me to share in the documentary. And yeah, it’s going to be a great experience for my fans.”
